Geneva Ingredients has been acquired by Brookside International, Inc. MERTZ ASSOCIATES acted as advisor to Geneva Ingredients in designing a selling program, preparing offering materials, contacting potential purchasers, developing competing buyers, evaluating proposals and participating in negotiations.

• GENEVA INGREDIENTS, Waunakee, Wisconsin, is a manufacturer of savory flavors used in food processing. Geneva experienced rapid growth over recent years and has become a significant supplier of savory flavors. Geneva’s products are used to establish the flavor profile in processed foods, particularly where fat and sodium have been reduced.
   
• BROOKSIDE INTERNATIONAL, INC., Greenwich, Connecticut, is a private equity group and the parent company of Hillside Capital, Inc., of New York, New York. Its partners have a particular interest in food related companies based on past business experience with Teepak International, Border Foods, and All-States Quality Foods. Brookside has provided Geneva with a strong capital base and intends to use it as a platform for additional acquisition opportunities in flavorings, specialty ingredients and related businesses.
