the assets of Max Phillips & Son Inc. have been acquired by Alter Trading Corporation MERTZ ASSOCIATES represented the beneficiaries and trustees to the Restated Phillips Revocable Living Trust in designing a marketing program, preparing offering materials, contacting potential purchasers, evaluating proposals and participating in negotiations.

• MAX PHILLIPS & SON INC., Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a privately held corporation, is an established scrap metal processor dealing with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In addition, it operates a steel service center for selected steel bar products. It was founded by Louis L. Phillips in 1947 and remained in the Phillips family.
   
• ALTER TRADING CORPORATION, St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1898, is a privately owned, fourth generation company and one of the largest scrap processors in the country. It has trading offices and processing plants across the central U.S and serves industrial clients and salvage operations of every kind. Alter’s processing facilities are state-of-the-art. The Max Phillips acquisition will give Alter another location in Wisconsin.
