ORLEY MEYER, Big Bend, Wisconsin, designs and manufactures standard and custom overhead bridge cranes and components. These cranes are available in standard spans to 100 feet and standard capacities to 40 tons and are used in various industrial settings including paper mills, steel processing plants, foundries, fabrication shops and machine shops. Orley Meyer has an installed base of over 2,500 cranes (located primarily in the Midwest) and sales over $5 million. They also provide replacement parts as well as field maintenance and other support services.
THE MANITOWOC COMPANY, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is a public company with manufacturing operations in the crane, foodservice equipment and shipbuilding/shiprepair industries and sales over $400 million. Manitowoc’s crane products include crawler- and truck-mounted lattice-boom cranes and excavators, truck-mounted hydraulic cranes, and pedestal cranes, which account for approximately $150 million of their total sales.
KRANCO BROWNING, Houston, Texas, manufactures heavy-duty industrial cranes and is a wholly owned subsidiary of KCI Holdings, the U.S. headquarters for KCI-Konecranes International, one of the largest worldwide overhead crane manufacturers. KCI has manufacturing and service operations in over 25 countries throughout the world and consolidated sales over FIM 1.6 billion (Finnish markka). The acquisition of Orley Meyer will expand KCI-Konecranes’ presence and crane service network in the U.S., particularly in the Midwest.
